Lagoon 42

Until 2021 there were three main forty models of the Lagoon. Those are Lagoon 40, Lagoon 42, and Lagoon 45. Last year Lagoon 46 join the company, but will leave that for another blog.

Now we are talking about Lagoon 42 the middle child of forty models.

The last blog was about Lagoon 40 and everything that was good about that model Lagoon 42 beats. From exterior to interior you couldn’t believe that two feet can make such a big difference.

Whoever said that every inch counts couldn’t be more right!

A huge difference between those two models is people’s capacity. Lagoon 40 can have a maximum of ten people, but Lagoon 42 can fit twelve people. To some that doesn’t seem that big a difference but if you have the boat in a charter that is a huge difference.

The Exterior of 42 is similar to 40 at the first glance, but on the second look, they are so much different. Helm station is on the opposite side and on 42 you have access to the roof from the helm station where there are cushions that are perfect for relaxation.

The biggest difference is the space in the cockpit area. There is a lot more sitting room and free space to entertain, not to mention two fridges in the cockpit that are a huge plus to have for hot summer days.

This model regarding the performance code 0 makes a huge difference. If you bought this boat for sailing and just for the comfort you need to have code 0.

Regarding the interior, it is quite similar to Lagoon 40 but also different and better. The saloon area is bigger navigation table is more spacious and electronics and navigation equipment are better arranged.

Galley actually has space for cooking it is not just for the show which is the case in some boats. Every detail is constructed for maximum efficiency.

There are two versions of this boat. Three cabins and four cabins. Three cabin version is mostly used for private use and four-cabin is used for charter use. I know that I have mentioned a few times that there is a big difference in size in just over two feet. But to me, the biggest difference where you can see that difference is in aft cabins.

Lagoon 42 has actual space where you can turn around and get dressed without bumping your elbows and head, a proper cabin to live in.

The heads are equipped with silent toilets and a separate shower area which is always better than having it all in one space.

To conclude bigger is always better. In all seriousness comparison of Lagoon 40 and 42 is that Lagoon 42 is better in every way, but it also costs 70 000€ more.

Starting price of Lagoon 42 is around 620 000€ and if you ask me that is the best investment you can make today!
