Yacht charter season 2021

There is a great saying ” thought times never last, but tough people, do”.

With that quote, you could perfectly describe the last two years of any business, not only the charter industry.

In 2020 corona hit everyone with surprise. Mad panic had ensued, nobody knew what was going on, what to do, when will it be over. There were so many questions. Let’s be honest for most of the questions we still don’t have the answer to, we are doing the best given the situation.

First time in my generation it seemed for a few days the whole world had shut down. That was one of the scariest things I have ever witnessed.

A lot of people lost their jobs, firms were shot down not knowing if they will be able to get back on their feet.

The charter industry seemed like it will work the best given the situation. If you need isolation what is better than being on a boat with just jour friends and family.

It seemed like that but there were many obstacles. Starting who can come from witch county, transferring charter weeks to the next year, and let’s not mention that the season started in July and ended in September. Skippers couldn’t get on a boat if they were admirals because nobody wanted to risk getting infected.

To summarize 2020 charter season was SHIT!

Ok. but we learned something. Changes were made now we know what to expect, but there is so much unknown what is going to happen with 2021.

Winter came charters started earlier than ever with boat preparations for the next season, but you can have all the boats in the world ready if there are no guests what good does it.

April came fast and things were still uncertain if the season will be the same as last year or even worse. But with some miracle borders, one by one started to open and the plague of 21st. is going away.

May was still bad but even bad May is better than what was last year.

June started to fill up and hope was coming back that it will not be another bad year.

July was a different story. The boats were out in the charter everybody was looking for extra boats and skippers were once again a hot commodity.

August was the same as July even crazier. It seemed that the good old day are back after just one year. Marinas were once again empty witch is always a sign of a good season.

Fridays and Saturdays are cold D days because there is undesirable composition. It looks like everybody is running around like headless chickens, but it only looks like that. every person has their assigned task and it is being done.

September came and the marina workers were happy because it seemed that the season is going to the end. They were wrong because September was as busy as August in some charter even better. That meant it was one of the best charter seasons ever.

There where so much uncertainty at the begging of the season but in the end, it lasted until the middle of November and that has never happened before.

It means people were so eager to travel have fun, get back to normal lives this was the perfect opportunity.

2021 was one hell of a good season!

We are now at the beginning of 2022 and what year it will be.

It can start bad but believe you me it will be the best one jet…….
