Lagoon 40

Wine, perfume, cheese, art, croissants are some of the things France is proud of, but if you are in the boating industry, there is one giant that everybody should know and respect and that is Lagoon.

Founded in 1984 as a specialist for multihull Lagoon never looked back. From a foundation in 1984 and 1995 partnering with another boat giant Beneteau, they produced more than 5800 catamarans.

Most models are charter versions, but you can change any model for personal use.

Boat models smaller than 50 feet are manufactured in Belleville-sur-Vie and launched at Les Sables-d’Olonne in Vendée. Lagoons that are bigger than 50 feet are manufactured at the CNB shipyard in Bordeaux.

Today we are going to do the introduction of the smallest model of Lagoon.

The Lagoon 40!

Once you see the first Lagoon you can’t confuse them with any other multihulls.

Simple and powerful lines separate them from the competition. Lagoon 40 is the smallest model, jet you have a feeling like you are in a much bigger boat.

The minimalistic design and layout open up the space. In the cockpit area is a dining table design to fit twelve guests. On each side of the cockpit are compartments for sailing equipment.

The stern cushion is on the perfect spot to lay and relax or for four people to sit and hang out.

On the right side is the helm position from which you can control the boat and hoist up the sails all by yourself. That is a big plus, unlike some other multi-hulls.

Mainsail has a square top because it is the sail for cruising, not high performance.

A self-tacking jib is one of the smartest designs for multihulls, especially the ones that are designed for cruising, and not high sailing performance.

When It comes to Lagoons interior it is pure elegance. Famous Nauta Designs creates horizontal lines to create the perception of more fluid space. When picking the interior you have few options and designs, but this model is with four cabins and four heads. Both hulls are identical.

The salon is fitted with a dining table that can be lowered and made into an extra berth.

Fully stacked galley is fluidly connected to the salon makes perfect sense.

The huge windows are surrounding the saloon area that gives a spectacular 360° view of the outside.

Like most boats, Lagoon 40 is all about practicality.

The seating in the salon has hidden compartments in the luggage or boat gear and that is a great thing to free ups

Lagoon 40 is a great introductory model to the world of French gigantic in the boating industry.

With a beautiful interior and more stunning exterior Lagoon, 40 is like a beautiful French girl with a nice personality.
